We are celebrating the work of the NHS and the dedication and hard work of all as we celebrate International Nurses Day. One of the first pioneers of Nursing was Florence Nightingale who was born on the 12th May 1820, on the 200th anniversary of her birth, the work Florence Nightingale did resonates with us now more than ever. Florence’s ideas and actions changed nursing forever.

VE day or Victory in Europe day marks the day when the guns fell silent at the end of the war in Europe. The announcement that the war in Europe had ended came at 3pm on 8th May 1945, by Prime Minister Winston Churchill. There are several activities within Purple Mash that can be used by children to commemorate VE Day.

With summer on the horizon, it is never too early to start looking forward to a Summer of Sport. Exciting events such as The Olympics and the UEFA Euro's are fast approaching and to celebrate, we've got a #SummerOfSport competition and a host of activities and resources to share with you.

We would like to thank all those schools who entered our writing element of the Book of Hope competition. The book now however, needs a front cover and images to go within the book as we launch the second part of the competition. Get involved with creating our Book of Hope.

Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year for Muslims and celebrated during the 9th month of their calendar. Ramadan doesnt follow the western calendar and instead follows the Lunar calendar meaning the month can change each year. This year the celebration starts on Monday 12th April.
