Welcome to Striver

Striver has been created with a sole purpose: to improve primary aged pupils' long-term physical and mental wellbeing. We do that by ensuring children of all abilities feel motivated and engaged, and teachers of all experience levels feel confident and in control.

The package includes a whole-school PE scheme of work (EYFS -Y6) with over 400 PE lessons, supported by six wellbeing units, all housed in a clever website and app that makes planning and assessment a breeze.

Teachers have found that they've got more time now to focus on other things rather than having to write plans after plans after plans. There's no need to sit down and write a big PE unit because it's already there given to you, and that's been fantastic, a pick up and go resource.

We completed our first Striver unit of work today - Year 6 gymnastics. The children loved it, and so did us teachers. The feedback I got from my year group partner who isn't as keen on PE as myself was that the plans were easy to follow and easy to teach, she was really on board with it. The children loved beating their score in the progress challenge of crab walking.

Striver is brilliant as it allows teachers to get on with the lesson and to not worry about preparation. It takes away that stress, puts more knowledge and fun into the P.E. lessons and the children start to understand more.

Striver for children

A focus on individual progression encourages a growth mindset.

Our lessons focus on developing the underlying key skills that make up all sports and activities, things like using movement to create space and controlling objects with your hands or feet. Breaking things down into key skills creates more opportunity for children to experience improvement. It also means children will feel confident to try out new activities independently.

Each unit starts with a Personal Best Activity where children set and record their personal best. At the end of the unit the children try and beat their personal best score and Striver shows you exactly how much each child has improved by. The only person the children are competing against is themselves!

Striver is the PE Coordinator's best friend, allowing you to ensure consistent and comprehensive teaching across the whole-school. And because Striver is all about up-skilling your staff it is a great way to spend Sports Premium Funding.

Striver's school planner function allows you to assign units to different classes and groups. Once assigned, the teachers have all the information they need to deliver exceptional PE lessons and you can see exactly who is teaching what throughout the year.

Data from every teacher is synced together online, so you can generate powerful whole-school reports whenever you need them.

Striver and Wellbeing

Striver contains dedicated wellbeing units that aim to boost self-esteem and build resilience. There are six wellbeing units that children study at increasing levels of depth as they move up through the school. This reinforcement process has been used so that by the time children leave your school, they not only understand these topics, but are able to put what they have learnt into practice in a meaningful way.

Striver's wellbeing units are designed to help schools meet the Government's statutory guidance on physical health and mental wellbeing.
