Support Safer Internet Day on 10th February 2026 with Purple Mash and Childnet’s free Safer Internet Day resources, designed to help schools explore this year’s theme: “Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI. Making space for conversations about life online.”

Online Safety Lessons

Our pre-recorded sessions are aimed at ages 3–7 and 7-11 respectively.

The KS1 session introduces key ideas around voice assistants in an age-appropriate way.

This session will explore:

  • What a voice assistant is
  • What voice assistants can do
  • The differences between a human and a voice assistant

The KS2 session will focus on more advanced uses of AI in an age-appropriate way.

This session will explore:

  • What AI is in simple terms
  • Everyday examples of AI using chatbots
  • The limitations of AI understanding that AI is not a human and doesn’t always get things right
  • How to make safe and smart choices when using AI tools like chatbots

The sessions can be used as a class lesson or phase assembly. All you need is the ability to play the video on a screen. Following the session, teachers can extend learning using ready-made Purple Mash activities, available in both online and offline formats.
