What's New this Term... 🌸Spring 2026🌸

Jan. 6, 2026

We know it's tough finding the time to explore all the new and exciting resources we create, so each term we put together a blog to show you the very best of what’s new across the 2Simple product range.

There continues to be lots of change on the horizon for the world of education this term, with new guidance and evolving expectations for teachers to navigate. At 2Simple, we're here to support you every step of the way and are constantly adapting and evolving for the classrooms of today.

See all of our updates in this short video:

Feature Updates

Group Working

With only a small portion of schools having 1:1 devices and budgets under increasing pressure, we’ve made it even easier for children to share devices. Teachers can now allow group working on Purple Mash activities for up to 6 children to work together on one device. Work is then saved to each child’s work area automatically – no need for duplicating.

NEW: Purple Mash AI Add-On

AI has come to Purple Mash! Schools now have the option to add an AI feature to 2Quiz, enabling teachers to create curriculum-aligned quizzes in minutes. You can find out more about it here.

To help schools ensure they are using AI safely this term, we have also created a Free AI Pack for schools which includes Risk Assessments, Guidance, Key Actions and Acceptable Use Agreements for staff and pupils.

Computing

The 2Simple team have been busy this summer, updating tools and creating new resources for computing:

REFRESHED AND REFINED: Computing Scheme

The Purple Mash computing scheme has been refreshed to reflect curriculum changes, digital trends, new software and teacher feedback. The majority of units have now been added with the final few being added this term.

UPDATED: Mash Club Term 3 Added

Mash Club now contains three terms' worth of self-guided sessions. The sessions include slideshows and printable step-by-step instructions for children to follow. These include images and screenshots so that children are able to easily see what they need to do.

Inside the Mash Club folder, you'll also find a poster, and certificates, as well as a guide. There are also stickers and name cards: for each session that they attend, budding coders and bloggers receive a new sticker.

Guides for Parents

Within the Purple Mash online safety scheme, 2BeSafe, there are new parent guides for each topic. These can be shared directly with parents, or added to your school website to support learning and online safety at home.

English & Maths

Grammar for Writing Resources

Resources continue to be added to our scheme which supports the teaching of grammar for Year 1-6. The scheme includes slides, Purple Mash activities and worksheets as well as a Teacher Guide.
