Celebrate the UEFA Women's Euros 2025

June 27, 2025

The UEFA Women’s European Championship kicks off on the 2nd July and runs until 27th July. Switzerland are the hosts of the competition this year. They will be joined by 15 other nations in the tournament, including England, the reigning champions having won the trophy on home soil in 2022, and Wales, who are taking part in a major women's tournament for the first time.

With England and Wales both in the same group to open the tournament, we’re guaranteed to see competitive and action-packed games!

It’s also the perfect opportunity to bring football into the classroom with Purple Mash, Striver, and Serial Mash. We've got a whole lineup of resources to get your class ready to cheer on their favourite team. Whether you teach die-hard football fanatics or those just looking to join in on the fun, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Free Women’s Euros Resource Pack with Purple Mash and Striver

We have put together a comprehensive free resource pack for you to use during the tournament. The pack has been built using a range of resources from Purple Mash and Striver, including:

  • Women's Footballer Mashcam
  • Design your own football shirt
  • Player Profile
  • Lesson and Activity plans from Striver

Children can use our player profile to write about one of the players taking part in the tournament and complete research into their background, or they could design their own dream football shirt for one of the 16 countries competing. They could also use our female footballer Mashcam to put themselves in the boots of the players and write down their thoughts in the speech bubbles. How would you be feeling to be representing your country at a major international tournament?

Other football-themed Purple Mash activities

As well as those free resources found within the pack, we also have additional resources for Purple Mash subscribers. Children can make their own football game within 2Code or try avoiding being tackled by the other players and collect as many footballs as they can in our 2DIY 3D football game. They can also use this template to edit the game and make their own.

Using 2Create a Story, children can also edit this football story or could make their own. There are also fact files on some of England's most well-known female footballers, The Lionesses, that children can research.

Youth Sport Trust Resources

The Youth Sport Trust have also created a Women’s Euro 2025 Football in Schools programme, to engage your pupils with a range of free and exciting resources to help bring the biggest women’s football event in Europe to life.
